About
Ilona
I started out photographing dancer friends in badly lit rehearsal rooms, with a lens that was far too slow. That is where I learnt to wait for the right moment instead of forcing it.
These days I work mostly in natural light, at 85 mm, and I photograph three things: people, movement, and cars — which are a little of both.
I always deliver files at original quality. A photograph you cannot print is not quite a photograph.

Natural-light portrait
Ninety minutes, outdoors or at your place, looking for the light that suits you. We start by walking and talking; the first frames never count. You leave with around fifteen retouched images, delivered at original quality.

Dance and movement
Studio, rehearsal room or outdoors: two hours to photograph work, not a pose. Bring your shoes, your stage outfit and something to warm up in. I shoot at 85 mm, from a distance, so the movement is never interrupted.

A car is photographed like a face: close, in fragments, and when the light is low. Two and a half hours on location, scouting included. Garage, showroom or open road — tell me where it sleeps.

First-time session
Forty-five minutes, no strings, for anyone the lens makes uneasy. Three retouched photographs afterwards. It is free, and it stays free: nothing is expected of you in return.

For a project that interests me — a series, a costume, a place — I shoot without invoicing, in exchange for the right to use the images.

How it works
A session, from first message to files
You pick a slot in the calendar and tell me about your project in a few lines. I answer within forty-eight hours — and if I decline, I say why.
On the day, we start by walking and talking. The first frames never count; they are there so the camera can be forgotten.
Within ten days you receive a private gallery. You star your favourites, ask for retouching if something is off, and approve it when everything suits you. Files download at original quality, without watermark, as often as you like.
